"We took a private tour with Timberbush Tours, since we had a three-year-old with us. From the first inquiry, Charline and the private hire team were wonderful to work with. We have been to Scotland several times and they were able to create a itinerary for unique places we hadn't been to yet. The day of Stuart was a wonderful tour guide and drive - providing great stories/history while meandering the highland roads. Overall it was a great private tour and we only wish we had more time with Stuart. We will be using Timberbush tour again in the future." - Amy, travelled September 2024.

Your next stop is any distillery in the Loch Lomond or Stirling area, like Deanston distillery, to sample some fantastic drams and learn all about the production of one of Scotland’s most important exports.

Then, you would head to Stirling Castle. Arguably one of the most important locations in Scottish history and positively brimming with stories and legends. This extended tour would take in some of the most important historical Viking and Roman sites in the United Kingdom. Heading down the east coast of the country and taking in the sensational views across the sea and past rocky cliffs and beaches.

Travelling down, we would visit locations like St Abbs, Lindisfarne and Bamburgh Castle. Then, heading to the beautiful town of Alnwick and towards Hadrian’s Wall which in Roman times, marked the border between Roman Britain and the unconquered Caledonia to the north. As well as these fascinating sites, we would visit Arbeia Roman Fort, Moorforge Viking Settlement, and the Roman Army Museum. Giving a real glimpse into the history of the United Kingdom and the people that lived here long before us.
